Support for Local Enterprise Development

Droogfontein Solar Power handed over a transportation vehicle to New Tech, a local service provider, to help boost and grow their business, as part of our Enterprise Development programme.

The 23-seater vehicle was given to New Tech to help transport employees to and from various sites.

The company was previously making use of a hired vehicle for staff transportation, which is very costly.  By funding this vehicle, the company is able to expand their operation, but securing additional within the surrounding areas.

This local enterprise provides a service to Droogfontein Solar Power in the form of basic maintenance activities as well as solar panel cleaning.

Droogfontein Solar Power’s Enterprise Development includes initiatives to assist and accelerate the sustainability of local enterprises by ploughing financial resources into the local area as well as the establishment of a local community trust. These programmes will continue for the 20 year life of the project and will focus on local communities in the Kimberley, Riverton, Ritchie and Barkly West areas.
