One of the highlights of Droogfontein’s Solar Power’s initiatives is a Reading Programme that has been implemented across ten schools, in conjunction with the Department of Education.
This Reading Coach Programme has already been introduced across 10 schools in Riverton, Ritchie and Barkley West. Training of the Reading Coaches commenced on 15th July 2014, during the school holiday period. The 10 teachers that have been trained will be allocated the Reading Coach resources.
The Programme incorporates a number of elements, namely employment, training and resources. In addition to this schools will receive a donation of books.
